Description
Hallaca is a Venezuelan dish. It consists of corn dough stuffed with a stew of beef, pork, or chicken and other ingredients such as raisins, capers, and olives Like some tamales, hallacas are folded in plantain leaves, tied with strings, and boiled.
This vegan/vegetarian hallaca is a variation of our delicious traditional hallaca. Made with soya based products. No suitable for coeliac people or gluten intolerant.
Cooking Instruction from Frozen:
Steam it for 60 minutes, (boil 45 minutes) take it out from the steamer and leave the hallaca to rest for 15 minutes for the flour to set. Unwrap the hallaca and enjoy.
If the hallaca is defrosted, steam it for 45 minutes, (boil 30) leave the set for another 10 minutes, unwrap and enjoy.
Note: Hallacas can be either steamed or boiled. But we highly recommend to steam it.
